This project happened way back in oct/nov 2015 but due to both legal and fairness reasons we are now finally able to release our media on this story. This project was for a series of 10 commercials, based on extreme sports for the american communications network  `Verizon`. So with that a certain amount of the official commercials had to be released first before we could get on with ours.

This film shoot was located in Sarajevo, Bosnia and what can I say folks. This was the single most challenging thing Ramp-Riders has ever done.. Its was tough on just about every level and at every moment throughout the 14 days. This project was such short notice that we only got to see the locations the day before we had to build something….oh ye and design something also.

(Below) Myself(right) and the riders taking a visualising measurement of a crazy death gap that they are about to jump. It was a sketchy run up and the surroundings kinda overwhelming.

(Below) This was a last minute extra material collection at the local suppliers before we left Copenhagen, Denmark that night in a convoy of cars toward the ferry and the great unknown that was the adventure waiting for us in Bosnia.

(Below): This was our first build location. Design and build a ramp on a weird transitioned roof down town Sarajevo. And we only just saw this location the night before in the dark.

(Below) This was the service lift area on ground floor for destination roof ramp(Corridor of hell). We were told that the lift could handle all our needs. But of course it was too small to take ANY of the building materials required. So day 1 unexpectedly started with a huge hump of materials up 9 sets of stair cases before we could even start building anything….Nice!

Once we could actually get started on the build, myself and Jonas started working on the transitioned base for the ramp. We and the producers/directors agreed to keep with the natural shape of the roof for the ramp.

Originally we were told we could sheet directly onto the roof until we got there and we discovered that the roof was both made of concrete and also kommune protected so we were not allowed to damage it in any way even though it was properly ruined anyway before we got there.

Fantastic roof structure.

It was a really interesting and beautifully shaped concrete roof we were working with.

(Below) As the guys were working on the roof ramp I went to take a look at the next location with the film crew to conceptualise a stunt so that I could get the next design started for the following days build…This photo is of a frantic material calculation in a dump yard of a cafe beside the timber suppliers that didnt have anything we needed. We didn’t speak the language or know where to go to get stuff…Brilliant! The roof ramp consumed more materials than originally planned as we could not drill the concrete. Order by the city council. 3 builder suppliers later we left with materials we would never use for even a bird house..Totally wrong feelings being generated on this project and its only day 2. oh man!! Ha

The Shoot for the roof ramp was set for night time. Locations and times were forever changing  though. At one point the roof was first, next thing it wasn`t so we had to go power build some jump box stuff down stairs by the corridor of hell with only a few hours to actually build this new expectation as the film crew were ready to go with this but failed to inform the ramp building crew..DIRECTLY.

This guy was a shredder.

The night view up there was amazing.

These 2 brothers were really good. This guy actually back flipped down a set of stairs on the streets during this filming trip without the aid of a ramp. Crazy stuff!

Next mission was to head for the mountains in Savarjevo to an old bombed out hotel which was the setting of a 3 year defense line during the war. This was a very unsettling location. It was impossible not to imagine the chaos and madness of war here as we built ramps of all things.

We were very lucky in fact to have an individual assisting us who in fact was actually here defending this site during the war. He didn`t speak much about it but when he did it stopped us in our tracks to listen intensely.

A huge thank you to all the crew who put up with this mission and me throughout this entire process. Portrait shots below taken by James Elms. He was the designated media pro throughout this whole thing.
